Research Fellow in Judgement and Decision Making / Behavioral Economics / Organizational Psychology

The Job’s mission
The Research Fellow will work as part of the Department of Management and is mostly expected to be involved in the department’s research activities. Teaching is only a secondary and small part of the position. The candidate is expected to have a well-developed research agenda.
Key activities & responsibilities
- Conduct studies in management and/or psychology and/or economics top-tier journals
- Design research projects and prepare submissions of grant proposals
- Work collaboratively with other researchers within the FBA. Mutual knowledge sharing through workshops, seminars, and internal peer-reviews is also expected.
- Limited teaching load – 1×90 min per week (graduate courses)
Obligatory requirements
- Ph.D. degree in a relevant field (or finishing the degree in 2019)
- A solid track record of publications in management and/or psychology and/or economics journals
- Advanced knowledge of quantitative research methodology (strong statistical skills)
- A strong background in judgement and decision making (especially in the organizational sphere), behavioral economics, or organizational psychology
Ideal profile
- Keen and demonstrable interest in management / judgment and decision making
- Knowledge and experience with experimental methods (laboratory experiments)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, deadline and results oriented
- Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision
- An excellent command of written and spoken English language (no knowledge of Czech language is required)
- Experience with open science practices is viewed positively
The Department of Management conducts research on decision-making mistakes and judgmental biases (anchoring, overconfidence, base rate neglect, etc.), laboratory and field experiments on dishonest behavior (of employees, managers, and consumers), personality and situational causes of unethical behavior, decision analysis, etc. Both empirical and theoretical research of the members of the department is published in major journals in psychology, management, and organizational studies
The offer
Full-time position for 12 months starting from spring/summer 2019. Based on the results achieved, we want to offer a permanent position after this period. Salary 26,000 EUR per year with possible additional bonuses.
